twenty years from this november

#1 Band B**** and I watched "Children of Men" last night starring one of my favorites: Clive Owen. Described on wikipedia as a "dystopian science fiction film." (full disclosure: i had to look up "dystopian" and i'm one nano-bit smarter now.) truly well done and full-on scary to ponder over upon first waking up to this beautiful spring day in Maryland just now. how would the world react if there were only one generation left? could this be why i suddenly have taken an interest in learning how to grow tomatoes? (full disclosure again: it's only one plant, and i'm not really trying that hard.)

Owen is great and I'm reminded that although I'm not a fan of the other actors in the film, I'd like to watch "Closer" again for his role. However, I wish "COM" had ended about 3 minutes before the actual ending. Spoiler alert: the ending with the big boat feels tacked on.....like the original ending was too open and that bleak minded people would not feel any of the hope or faith that's a thread through the story. still, all in all a frightening way to spend an evening.
