wasn't it Robespierre who said something about people want a revolution without revolution? it's these kind of thoughts i was pondering over the last few weeks on my lunch breaks where i would watch as much as my brain could tolerate of "Zizek" by Astra Taylor. a fascinating introduction to Slavoj Zizek and his quirks, ticks, delciously foul language, and, most importantly, his ideas. i could get through about 20 minutes before stopping to catch my breath and allow my brain to reinflate, after feeling squashed.
i would recommend this to you, in small doses. but you're probably smarter than i am, so maybe you can take more at a time. i'll attempt one of his books next. his energy was dizzying and made me feel lazy and unaccomplished. i might watch this docu again, only in a very altered state to see if more of it gets through my capitalist thick skull.
