for my summer job that ended at the end of july, i had to be fingerprinted...and i think i was skeptical about this in an earlier blog. i have never been fingerprinted and as far as i know, there have been no criminal background checks on me. in June, when i got back from that first summer tour, i got 2 letters from this Department of Public Safety both worded in the most backward a** way you can imagine. in simple terms, they were saying: you have not been convicted of any crimes. but the wording was something ridiculous in the vein of here is a list of all the crimes you have not been convicted of.
it was alarming to get the letter because when i initially read it, i was confused and thought i suddenly had a record i didn't know about. i thought: maybe i've been committing crimes in my sleep! or maybe i have a split personality (not such a far fetched idea for my chose profession) and she's been doing things i'm not aware of! (maybe she should stop ending sentences with prepositions!!)
anyway, i don't know what to do with this letter. do i keep it? do i recycle it? i'll probably keep it.

today, i'm doing rock star things: laundry, cleaning off my desk, catching up on emails, preparing to leave town again in 48 hours. lots to do before then and i'm just getting to the good parts of a book, too! but i'll have plenty of time to read next week. yay!
#1BB and i went to see Batman: The Dark Knight on Monday night at the wonderful Senator Theater here in B'more. i love that place. and i love the new speech before the show too that includes the scolding of people who text during the movies. it actually comments on how distracting the glow of a cell phone or PDA can be in a dark theater. yay, Senator!
go see this before it leaves there on Thursday. the movie is excellent. the actors are great. the costumes are cool. the action is great (but the sound was up a little loud.) the score! the score by Hans Zimmer is really really great and i really liked it. of course, i always like a well placed timpani.
more catching up to do...and finishing my final tour video diary/film thingy.
