bottle up and explode!!

my poor parents. i always come home to their house and immediately dump everything out onto the floor. at least it's in a part of their house they don't visit daily. (thanks mom and pop, for letting me stay and for letting be as messy as i wanna be.)

today was great. i woke up and my first thought was about Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova winning the Oscar. i was immediately awake and excited about the future for artists. it felt hopeful.

the YMCA here is amazing. i love it.

i worked out, watched a movie with my mom and now i'm filtering through all the cards, cds, promotional materials from the weekend. it's going to take at least a few days to process it all, but i'm trying to hit the ground running.

i think if i stay focused, i can get through all the unread emails, answer at least a few, follow up on work ones and still have plenty of time left over for visiting my family. it's good to be here. i needed a break from the North East.

but, if you're reading this, know that i miss home. and i'll call as soon as i finish this post.

life on 2 wheels

i want to be a person who exercises regularly, but i always seem to put some obstacle in the way of doing that....plus, i really want to swim and without regular access to a good pool, this becomes a summer-only activity. (Note to YMCA--call me back! I applied for financial assistance like a month ago!!)

anyway, my friends L&K invited me out for a bike ride last night and it was the furthest i've ever gone on a bicycle. roundtrip was 20 miles. I couldn't believe i made it through the whole ride...it was exhiliarting feeling what my body was truly capable of. I'm going to do it again next week, i think. I want to keep up this feeling. I'm sure it's no revelation to anyone who does exercise regularly, but it was a nice reminder. A nice mellow high.

also, i was reminded how beautiful the landscape is here in Maryland. And really close and accessible.

also also, i need to get my motorcycle license test taken....haven't done that. But have been doing all my errands for the last 2 weeks on my moto-bike in an effort to re-acquaint myself with how it works.
