the fence tries to make a break for it.

a few weeks ago, there were 87mph straight line winds in my parents and my sister's neck-o-the woods. i was there this weekend for a quick visit and there was another bad storm that blew through. my parents calmly sat on the couch while the siren sounded and i jumped around. it's been awhile since i lived in that part of the country. bad weather in Maryland means a night of snow and then slush in the morning. bad weather in Texas means your house blows away.

anyway, i saw this part of a fence had tried to make a get-away from its job containing this suburban yard, but was trapped by a nefarious (and probably unsuspecting) tree.

i used the Light Rail in B'more City to get to BWI--a pleasant trip. If it seems like everything and circumstances are sucking the romance out of air travel, at least the rail can put some of it back. although it took longer, there was no gas expense, no time expense for someone else, i got to read, relax and stare out the window. At BWI, when you enter the terminal, you are in the international terminal. They have paintings and quilts on the wall. I had some spare time and so I took a slow gander. This one, was especially interesting. A traveler had made a mish-mash quilt, including a little purse for her passport. I loved the random-ness of the quilt.

Here's the view from my flight back to B'more. Somewhere over Tennessee (i think.)
