Yerfdog got it right when he called Ann Coulter "ghoulish." I would like to add "preening", "obnoxious", "vain", and "vindictive". Of course, everyone knows this. What you may not observe when you watch her (if you can keep the tears from your eyes, crying over the state of politics in this country) is how obviously lonely and desperate she is. But I don't feel sorry for her one bit. She has been described as a hate monger and that's really what she is. And it's obvious to me that this has kept her in a lonely state of affairs her whole life.
Okay, so #1BB and I went to see "once" last night. A film that is great and gets greater the more you think about it. But i'm not going to comment on it in this rant. This is about the people sitting one row behind me for the first 5 minutes (we moved seats very soon after the movie started.) For some reason, people feel it's necessary to talk during movies, narrating already a medium that is by itself usually narrative. This dude wanted to let us all know that he knows what an F chord looks like on a guitar. (it wasn't an F he was playing, but a C chord.) Then there was more running commentary. Rather than turn around tell the guy to shut up, we just moved seats. I know that for security reasons, all of the romance has been sucked out of taking an flight on a commercial airline...you can't meet or say goodbye at the gate. It's more like being herded like cattle to get on a plane. ....but movies.....can't we just have some silence? can't we just be away from cell phones and texting and fucking talking for 2 hours? less than 2 hours? 1.5 hours? Can't you just shut up for 90 minutes??
I realize I'm not saying anything original at all in this. But seriously.
Thankfully, after the move we enjoyed the rest of the movie. More on that after a quick rehearsal....
