they were robbed and you can help

I went to the Radical Bookfair this weekend at Baltimore's own 2640 Space. It was really cool and I saw the most amazing literature there. It's such a great space as well and there was good energy there. Then I saw the posting on their site that they were robbed of their sound equipment in the last few days and that this can prevent them from putting on future events.

What is wrong with people? I was robbed in Brooklyn in 2001 and lost so much musical equipment--I was devastated. There's a difference between robbing someone of something they can replace--a credit card (although, i'm by no means saying this isn't major to have to cancel everything and get new cards, etc.)...but to rob people of tools. That's the worst. Shame on people that do that.

Go to the above link and donate a few bucks through Pay Pal. It will help them replace the gear and everyone will feel better all around.

Been to that space many times...for a lesbian wedding, several Green Party fundraisers (at one of which a previous Seamus incarnation played), rock concerts, and ethnic fests of many varieties.

We tried to buy a house down there, next block up, but couldn't come to terms.

Robbery sucks. Especially robbery of lefty idealists.
