time on task

i've joined with a fellow musician to meet semi-regularly and be accountable to each other for the goals we set. last week we set a goal to write a mission statement and this proved harder than i thought. i realized that i've been wandering through the last decade with alot of vaguery (is that a word?) about what i want to do, what i'm trying to do. amazing how defining a clear purpose and setting goals based on that purpose can really show you what to do each day to move closer.
wow. whoda thunk? like basic banking and credit use, accountability should be a required class in high school. however, i do feel that i've been "studying to the test" for a long time. preparing just enough so that i'm ready for the gig or the upcoming conference, but not truly ready for when the big opportunities arise.
no longer. i'm getting ready. this is what Fall and Winter are really for. strategizing for the Spring/Summer tours but making them even more effective this time.
wow. i'm surprised how coherent i sound! i slept poorly and really got two chunks of about 3 hours fitful sleep. i've been fighting (and beating) a tiny cold that's going around, but it's time to hit the sack tonight before 1AM, i think. the Mission Statement gets revised on Wednesday. can't wait to see what happens next. i'm craving the structure and glad to have met someone who is like minded in pushing our creative brains to think logically, too.
